Google Maps has reportedly updated its Book of Kells listing to include dual pins — one over Kells, Co. Meath labelled “spiritually,” and one over Trinity College Dublin labelled “for tickets, toilets, and the gift shop.”
Early testers say navigating between the pins produces a route that politely suggests you “rethink your life choices” and also “allow extra time for traffic on the M3.”
A Maps spokesperson was unavailable, presumed stuck in a loop between “made here” and “displayed here.” Trinity welcomed the clarity. Kells welcomed the traffic, then clarified that the traffic was mostly people asking where the book went.
App users are advised to tap both pins, visit the town that gave the manuscript its name, and only then decide whether the glass case deserves the petrol money.
